Romeo and Juliet

By William Shakespeare

This production of Romeo and Juliet focuses on the central theme of Fate using a contact improve-based dance ensemble to personify this theme. The “fate ensemble” manipulated the main characters, illustrating that they were being controlled by forces outside of themselves. With this as the driving force behind the production, the scenic design strives to create a world woven and controlled by fate with representations of fate throughout.
